The dominating trend of casual winter is rounding it’s second year, and it’s safe to say that Sockassins (our self labeled name on the Sock+Moccasin trend) is here to stay. Sockassins are so popular because they are so rediculously comfortable, while making your feet look super cute. For any age, this trend looks awesome. It’s easy to do, and you can almost never go wrong. Sockassins are all about the quirkiness, so the more diverse your sock to mock’ choice is, the better! Below are the Bella Moccasins from Ugg, but for a cheaper pair that look exactly the same, we’d go with Minnetonkas in Medium Brown.
Fair Isle Patterned socks are the safest bet besides plain colors when choosing socks to go with your moccasins. To make sure everything looks proportional, you should be searching for cotton or knit socks, the chunkier the better. Sheer socks don’t look right and kill this adorable and warm look. Some places to look for these types of socks would be Forever21 (they have an awesome selection of cute socks) and Urban Outfitters. If you really want to take comfort and cuteness to the next level, we’d recommend fuzzy socks. Yes, fuzzy socks. I personally got an adorable Aloe-enriched pastel pink pair at Famous Footwear, and they even have these at the 99 cents store.
When choosing a sock, try to not go any higher than mid-calf. Any higher and you’ll have to start scrunching. This look helps to elongate the appearance of your legs, and when you have tall socks all it does is breaks a line at an awkward level. For reasons we can’t explain, socks just a tad bit above the ankle seem to work best in making you look adorable. It makes no sense, we know. Let’s just show you some pictures…
